Dear Friends,

I’m pleased to report the following update on the controversial Kaufman County development that has rightly worried so many in our community:

I spoke with the Middle East development group directly within the past 24 hours and advised them to step back and reconsider whether this was the right time and fit for their project. Following that conversation, they’ve decided not to move forward in Kaufman County.  

This matter is resolved, and there is no cause for continued concern.

I will always stand with our community and will oppose any development that does not reflect the will and values of the people I represent—especially when I have the ability to stop it. I will maintain a firm, zero-tolerance approach toward any activity tied to radical Islam that threatens the safety and stability of our community.

I have also joined the Sharia Free Caucus in the U.S. House, and I will work to ensure our nation doesn’t end up like the once-great nations of France and the United Kingdom.

I hear you, I take your concerns seriously, and I will act.
