On this Tax Day, remember: Democrats tried to raise your taxes—but we stopped them.
Last June, I helped pass the Big Beautiful Bill, preventing the largest tax hike in American history and delivering real relief to Texans by eliminating taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security. The results are already making a difference:
- Average tax refunds are up 10% this year.
- Families are seeing up to $10,900 more in take-home pay.
- A family of four earning up to $73,000 pays $0 in federal income taxes.
- Tipped workers are pocketing an additional $1,300.
- Seniors benefit from an extra $6,000 Social Security deduction.
Earlier this year, I also introduced the No Tax on Restored Benefits Act. This bill ensures that cops, teachers, and firefighters do not face an unexpected tax bill on benefits restored by the Social Security Fairness Act.
