Prevention Practices, Paycheck Protections, and More
Dear Friend,
As we continue to forge through these uncertain times, I remain committed to fight for you and West Texas in our nation's capital. Since last week, we have seen over $90 billion in loans distributed to small businesses so that they can retain employees, saving millions of jobs. Congress and this Administration will continue to work to provide relief for the working American families who are suffering from this pandemic at no fault of their own. It goes without saying that our nation is being tested. But we will get through this. I continue to pray for you, your families, and your livelihoods as we navigate this crisis. Please know that my office stands ready to assist you.
Below, you will find a recap of the available federal relief, along with updates on my work here in Washington. To ensure you're receiving the latest updates from Washington and across West Texas, I encourage you to follow me on Twitter and Facebook and encourage your fellow West Texans to sign up for my
Preventing the Spread of COVID19
It is the responsibility of every American to continue following the White House and CDC issued guidelines and best practices, as well as those coming from the state and local level. This includes but is not limited to social distancing and avoiding close contact with others, frequently washing your hands, covering your face when you cough or sneeze, and cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.
Below are helpful resources you can consult should you have any questions or concerns, however, please feel free to contact my offices.

Texas Agencies:

Paycheck Protection Program
By working with their bank, small businesses can get eight weeks of cash-flow assistance through 100 percent federally guaranteed loans. If the business uses the money to maintain payroll, the portion of the loans used for covered payroll costs, interest on mortgage obligations, rent, and utilities would be forgiven. Churches, a cornerstone of many of our communities, are also included in this program.
To learn more about eligibility requirements, visit SBA’s “Paycheck Protection Program” website or contact your banker. For more information about church eligibility, click here.
Protecting American Industry
From agriculture and manufacturing to rural healthcare, many industries are being impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. As we look toward recovery, we cannot forget about American oil and gas producers. Maintaining our energy independence is a priority.
I was proud to have Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, Minority Whip Steve Scalise, and 48 of my colleagues join me in writing a letter to President Trump that shared our thoughts about helping our energy industry through these trying times. To read my full letter, click or the image below.
