Reopening Texas

It’s time we responsibly get people back to work and communities back to some semblance of normalcy. I fully expect Texas to lead in the nation’s recovery and commend Governor Abbott for announcing the phased reopening of Texas. I urge you and your family, however, to exercise caution, and continue doing all that you can to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Celebrating our Nurses

In celebration of National Nurses Week, it was my privilege to visit with Chief Nursing Officer Tammy Williams, and her team, presenting them with a flag flown over the US Capitol in honor of the countless sacrifices they make for West Texans.

This was a small way to say, ‘thank you’ for all they do.

National Day of Prayer

Ben Franklin said, “If a sparrow cannot fall from the sky without God’s notice, it is improbable an empire can rise without His aid.”

‪This National Day Of Prayer I was honored to join the Lubbock Chamber in prayer via Zoom asking for God’s “aid” as we rise (and as families recover) from the fallout of COVID19. To listen, click here or the video below.

Thank A Teacher

With spring school trips to DC canceled due to COVID19, I'm sharing a virtual tour of our nation’s capital for our students.

‬Protecting Life 

All life is a gift from God, and protecting the unborn is one of my top priorities in Congress. I was proud to have colleagues from across the country join Rep. Mike Johnson and me in urging SBA to maintain the integrity of the Paycheck Protection Program by ensuring none of these taxpayer funds go to Planned Parenthood and their affiliates. Safeguarding Taxpayer Dollars

Given reports of the Chinese communist regime’s coverup and mishandling of this virus, I’m proud to have signed this letter authored by Sen. Martha McSally (R-AZ) and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) to guarantee taxpayer money is not funding Chinese state-run labs. To read the full letter, click here or the image below.

Abuse of Power

More residual stench coming from Comey’s FBI. Being critical of the President is one thing, but political weaponization of the FBI is the height of injustice, an affront to the agency, and a threat to every citizen’s freedom.That’s not a Republican statement, that’s an American sentiment. I would also like to wish those in Texas-19 a Happy Mother’s Day!  Mothers, whether by birth or adoption, are pillars of strength, grace, and wisdom, and we thank God for the special figures in our lives. Thank you to my wife and mother of my three children, Anne. This Mother’s Day is also our wedding anniversary. I am grateful for 12 years of marriage with an amazing woman, tireless mother, and loyal friend.
