News from Congressman Arrington

West Texas Wrap-up

Dear Friend,

Below, you will find a recap of my work here in Washington. To ensure you’re receiving the latest updates from Washington and across West Texas, I encourage you to follow me on Twitter and Facebook.

Condemning Domestic Terrorism

It is shameful for the leaders elected to Congress, with the full confidence of the American people that we will call evil by its name, to sit idly by, complicit in their silence, and not condemn the chaos, the destruction, the violence, the crimes, and the terrorism that is ravaging our nation.

We’ve got to stand up to this mob! We have to say, no more will you burn our cities! No more will you terrorize our communities, and intimidate, and use fear to squelch any attempt by our local leaders to stop this. These people ought to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They should be locked up away from the citizens who are just trying to live out their lives in this great nation.

Reopening Schools

Yesterday, I sent Leader McConnell a letter with three requests: Congress should not appropriate additional education relief money until states spend the 99% that remains from the previous package; all unspent money should be used to incentivize reopening schools to provide a minimum of 50 percent in-classroom capacity; and should schools choose not to do so and remain online, their outstanding funds should be distributed directly to parents and families. Telephone Town Hall

This Thursday, July 30th, I will be hosting a telephone town hall for my constituents and fellow West Texans. This call will be to hear directly from you about the issues facing TX-19 and most important to your family. To join you can participate via phone by dialing 855-962-1203 or can listen online at https://arrington.house.gov/live/.

Defending American Values

We have faced many challenges so far in this 21st century and even just this past year. They are complex and complicated. The answer, however, is clear. Washington can pass all the laws it wants but government cannot change the human heart.

As we legislate, lead, and represent, you, the citizens of this great land, what makes and will keep America great are our values. We must defend, promote, and fight for a future of one nation under the sovereignty of God.
