May is National Military Appreciation Month. Declared by Congress in 1999, this month-long observance honors the sacrifices of the United States Armed Forces.

Freedom isn't free—it's built on the sacrifice of our service men and women. Let us never forget there would be no liberty without security, no land of the free without a home of the brave. God bless and thank you to all who serve our great country!

I’m proud to serve as the representative for Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene—home to more than 5,700 personnel and the largest B-1 bomber base in the country. I am humbled to advocate and be a voice for our airmen and the Air Force ensuring we have the best security for our great country.

It is my distinguished honor to nominate exceptional student leaders as candidates for appointment to our esteemed United States Service Academies. Each student I nominate is among the best and brightest of West Texas, and they represent the next generation of American leaders.
