U.S. Rep. Jodey Arrington's federal budget, already endorsed by President Donald Trump, has moved on to the Senate after it was approved by the House.

Just a few weeks after presenting his federal budget blueprint and gaining the backing from the president and key House GOP leaders, the House voted 217-215 to approve the budget crafted by House Budget Chairman Arrington.

In a video, Arrington, a Lubbock Republican, stated that the House budget — known as House Concurrent Resolution 14 — is the vehicle to usher in Trump's America First Agenda.

"I’m proud of my colleagues for meeting this moment with the urgency it demands, and I implore the Senate to act quickly so we can deliver on the people’s mandate by restoring fiscal health to our nation, reining in reckless spending, restoring safety and security to our communities, and reigniting economic growth for generations to come,” Arrington said.

After the passage, House Speaker Mike Johnson praised Arrington for his work leading the House Budget Committee.

"This is the first important step in opening up the reconciliation process," Johnson said. "We have a lot of hard work ahead of us. But we are going to deliver the America First Agenda — we are going to deliver all of it, not just parts of it."

Now, the House budget resolution will head to the Senate, which has its own vision for the federal budget that has drawn criticism from President Trump.

"The House and Senate are doing a SPECTACULAR job of working together as one unified, and unbeatable, TEAM, however, unlike the Lindsey Graham version of the very important Legislation currently being discussed, the House Resolution implements my FULL America First Agenda," Trump said on Feb. 19.
