ADVANCING RECONCILIATION 3.0

This week, my House Budget Committee passed the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2027, a critical first step in unlocking the reconciliation process to support our troops, secure our elections, and strengthen our food supply.

Republicans are united and undeterred in our fight to restore America's greatness.

We don't have a country if we can't defend it, and we don't have a democracy if people can't trust the outcome of our elections.

Passing Reconciliation 3.0 will support our troops, secure our elections, and SAVE America.

TEXAS ATTORNEY GENERAL KEN PAXTON BACKS MY RESOLUTION AFFIRMING STATES' RIGHT TO DEFEND AGAINST BORDER INVASION

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced strong support for H.Res.50, my resolution to affirm states’ constitutional authority to defend themselves when the federal government fails to secure the border.

Attorney General Paxton has been on the front lines defending Texas’ constitutional authority to protect its citizens against the invasion and disaster at our southern border created by the Biden administration.

While President Trump is vigilantly securing our border and enforcing our immigration laws, Congress must act now to ensure Texas and other border states are never again defenseless against the open-border Biden-era policies that flooded our state and nation with dangerous criminal aliens and deadly fentanyl.

If the past is prologue, we know exactly what we can expect from future Democrat administrations that want to take us back to open-border lawlessness.

That’s why I introduced H.Res.50 – to ensure states like Texas are never again forced to be passive victims of a federal government that refuses to secure the border. I’m grateful to Attorney General Paxton for his bold leadership defending Texas’ sovereignty and for his strong support of H.Res.50.

Congress should act now to ensure that no future administration can leave border states defenseless again.

REMEMBERING
SENATOR LINDSEY GRAHAM

I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend and Senate Budget Chairman, Lindsey Graham.

Lindsey was a patriot, a fearless leader, and a tireless champion for our men and women in uniform. His big Southern personality, infectious sense of humor, and steadfast commitment to our nation made him a treasured friend and an exceptional public servant.

His leadership was instrumental in delivering President Trump’s historic One Big Beautiful Bill, and his love for our troops and unwavering commitment to our nation’s security leaves a lasting legacy.

The Palmetto State was blessed to have Chairman Graham represent them for so many years, our nation is stronger and safer on account of his leadership, and my experience was made all the richer for having known and served with him.

Anne and I will be praying for Lindsey’s family, his loved ones, and his staff.

CELEBRATING AMERICA 250

John Adams called Independence Day America’s “Day of Deliverance.” The Declaration of Independence - that sacred parchment - is the cornerstone of American exceptionalism and the foundation for the longest-sustained constitutional democracy in the world. It affirms the birthright of every American citizen: our God-given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The Declaration of Independence wasn’t just a list of grievances; it was a treatise on man and his natural rights - a mission statement for how such men should be governed.

No one at the time gave us a fighting chance of defeating the world’s superpower for our independence. And few predicted we’d persist for a quarter of a millennium. Our founding visionaries weren’t sure of either outcome themselves, but they believed in our inherent rights and God-given freedoms and would rather die fighting for them than live under tyranny.

They trusted in “divine Providence” for protection and mutually pledged to each other “our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

They held fast to truth, they stood firm for justice, and they fought like warrior poets for our freedom. And, by the grace of Almighty God, our revolutionary ancestors gave birth to the most powerful and prosperous nation in human history.

Let’s honor their vision, courage, and conviction by solemnly dedicating ourselves to preserving this “Great Experiment” in liberty and self-government.

Happy 250th Independence Day to all my God-fearing, freedom-loving American patriots!

May God continue to have mercy upon and give favor to our beloved nation.

HOUSE PASSES MY STOPPING FRAUDULENT PAYMENTS ACT

The House took a strong stand to safeguard hardworking American taxpayers by passing my Stopping Fraudulent Payments Act, confronting the persistent cycle of fraud, waste, and abuse by the government.

Politicians’ perpetual addiction to buying votes and Washington’s abject failure to protect tax dollars have resulted in an unprecedented scale of fraud that threatens not only the sustainability of our safety net programs, but also the future economic viability of our nation.

Instead of hunting down stolen money after the fact, these bills prevent improper payments and fraud from happening in the first place. If we’re serious about restoring fiscal sanity to Washington, we must get serious about eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse wherever they exist.

I’m proud to work with Chairman Comer to protect taxpayer dollars and ensure these programs serve the people they were intended to help—not those who seek to exploit them.
