Saving the U.S. Postal Service
Dear Friend,
I have heard from hundreds of 8th district residents who are concerned about the recent changes to the U.S. Postal Service and what it means for those that receive medication or paychecks through the mail.
Have you or your family been affected by the changes at the U.S. Postal Service? Let me know here: Share your USPS story
On Friday, I will be heading back to Washington, DC to vote on a bill that will reverse the recent changes at USPS and restore the service level to where it was on January 1, 2020. We will also be voting on $25 billion in relief for the Postal Service to ensure they have the infrastructure and workers in place to be able to deliver and receive mail-in ballots for the upcoming election.
The USPS is a lifeline for many Americans who receive medication, government correspondence, or paychecks through the mail. 8th district residents and Americans across the country shouldn’t have to worry about whether they will receive medication on time or if they will receive their paycheck in time to pay rent. I understand the urgency—earlier this Summer my insulin did not show up on time.
I will not allow the USPS to be dismantled on my watch. I will keep working to make sure they have what they need to keep delivering for us.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
More soon.
Sincerely,
Kim Schrier, M.D. Member of Congress |
