Priorities for 117th Congress
Dear Friend,
As we swear in a new President and start a new Congress, I want to provide an update about what I have been working on and also want to hear from 8th District residents about your priorities.
During my first two years:
- I traveled more than 11,400 miles around the 8th District visiting farms, schools, and small businesses
- My office returned $5,616,359 to constituents
- We answered 194,906 constituent emails and phone calls
- Eight of my bills were signed into law
- I held 70 Town Halls, to listen to you and answer your questions
My office stands ready to assist you with navigating federal agencies to make sure you get your Veterans benefits, expedited passport requests, tax returns, stimulus checks, and more.
As we begin the 117th Congress, I want to know more about the issues you care about and how I can work on on your behalf.

For the 117th Congress, I will have the privilege to serve on the Energy and Commerce and Agriculture committees. The powerful Energy and Commerce committee focuses on many issues, including health care, climate change, energy policy, environmental protections, medical research, and telecommunications. As our country continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, I am eager to put my two decades of health care experience to work!
As the only Member from the Northwest on the House Agriculture Committee, I am honored to continue to be a voice for our farmers and growers. The Committee has jurisdiction over federal agriculture policy and oversight, funding of agricultural research, forest health and resiliency, and nutrition programs like SNAP. As a pediatrician, one of my priorities is making sure children have access to the nutritious food they need to thrive. During this pandemic, more people are struggling to feed their families than ever before.
I also wanted to make sure you saw two recent op-eds I wrote in the American Healthcare Journal and the Seattle Times about the vaccine roll out and rapid, at-home testing.
Lastly, in case you missed it, I will be holding my first Town Hall of 2021 tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5:00pm PT. RSVP here: https://forms.gle/bACPKdRCH69gSHBs8
Please do not hesitate to reach out to my office if you think we can help you or your family in any way. During this difficult time, I encourage those who are unsure about new and existing programs and resources at both the federal and state level to reach out to my office. My staff are available to address any questions or concerns. My staff and I have also been able to return over $5 million to constituents so far, and we would be honored to help you or someone you know navigate federal agencies. You can reach my DC office at 202-225-7761, my Issaquah office at 425-657-1001, or my Wenatchee office at 509-850-5340.
Sincerely,
Kim Schrier, M.D. Member of Congress |
