News from Congressman Scott Fitzgerald

Dear Daniella,

It has now been eight days since Democrats voted against a clean short-term funding bill. The government remains shutdown as progressives in D.C. are demanding taxpayer funded healthcare for illegal aliens, radical transgender surgeries, and keeping dead people on Medicaid rolls.

I wanted to shed some light on how this shutdown will hurt small businesses in Wisconsin by highlighting information from the White House:

-$59M in SBA small business loans delayed under a month-long shutdown.

-$151M in lost federal contracts during a one-month shutdown.

-$295M in lost consumer spending in Wisconsin each month the government is shut down.

When I voted to keep the government open, I had small businesses in mind. D.C. liberals must vote to reopen the government now.

Do you support the clean short-term funding bill House Republicans passed to keep the government open?

As always, my team and I are here to help. Both my Oconomowoc and Washington, D.C. offices will remain fully open during the government shutdown. Please don't hesitate to reach out or visit my website if you have any questions about my work in Congress or need assistance with a federal agency.
