It is my greatest honor to represent Michigan's 10th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. I am here to serve you, my constituent. If you need any help with a federal agency, or want to share your opinion, please reach out to my office.

Town Halls

Next week, I will be holding multiple town halls throughout the district. Hearing from my constituents is vital to representing you in Congress. Check out the flyer below for the times and locations. I look forward to seeing you there.

"Non-COVID Relief" Bill

Last Saturday, in the dead of night, even with bipartisan opposition to it, the Democrats passed their "non-COVID relief" bill. This pandemic has wreaked havoc on our country, especially due to the unnecessary and unending lockdowns pushed by the left. Instead of throwing more money at this issue, we need to fix the problem itself by reopening our economy and schools.

Here are some of the reasons I voted against this legislation:

  • Almost $1 trillion of your tax dollars have yet to be spent from previous COVID-19 relief bills.
  • $350 billion will go to state and local governments for bailouts due to bad budgeting from long before the pandemic.
  • Only $6 billion of the $130 billion for K-12 schools will actually be available in 2021.
  • It will raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour, which would eliminate more than one million jobs according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. This violates the Senate's rules, but Speaker Pelosi still included the Squad's radical ideas.
  • It continues the leftist priority of forcing Americans to be reliant on the government.
  • $670 billion, or roughly 35% of the entire package, won’t be spent until at least 2022, by which time the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office projects the economy will have returned to pre-pandemic levels.
  • It includes more than $140 million for Speaker Pelosi’s underground subway in Silicon Valley and $1.5 million for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s bridge to Canada among other pork projects.
  • It includes $1,400 a week for federal employees to not go to work.

Great Lakes Winter Commerce Act

Last week, I joined a bipartisan group of Great Lakes members to introduce the Great Lakes Winter Commerce Act. This winter, towns along the St. Clair River experienced widespread flooding due to thick ice forming on the river. It's apparent now, more than ever, that we need an additional heavy icebreaker in the Great Lakes region.

H.R. 1 - For the Politicians Act

Last week, Speaker Pelosi continued her agenda of pushing through the most leftist policies America has ever seen. The unconstitutional H.R. 1 would dramatically alter elections in our country and tips the scale for the Democrats. From having campaigns be taxpayer funded to federalizing the entire election process, nothing in this bill would ensure the safety and security of one of America's most vital institutions. I voted no on this legislation and will continue to work to pass my legislation, the Voter Confidence Act, which will ensure the issues we saw in 2020 aren't repeated again.

National Guard

I am horrified our guardsmen & women, who are protecting our Capitol, are being fed inedible food. I joined the entire MI delegation this week in demanding an answer. This problem needs to be addressed now, before anyone else gets sick. The catering company either needs to fix the issue now, or we give our troops a per diem.
