Constituent Corner: U.S. Flag and Tour Requests

November 19, 2019

Dear Neighbor,

I wanted to take a moment to share with you some information about constituent services my office can provide with U.S. flag requests, Capitol tour requests, White House tour requests, and additional tour options. Check it out below and remember we are here to serve you.

U.S. Flag Requests

Interested constituents may purchase U.S. flags on my official House website. My congressional office can request that a U.S. flag be flown over the Capitol Building on any day of the year to honor or celebrate an individual, organization, or event. While you may request a specific flying date, no dates can be guaranteed due to weather and varying demand, but we will do our best to support your request.

A certificate of authenticity from the Architect of the Capitol will accompany flags that are flown over the Capitol. The certificate may also be personalized to include the name of the person or organization for whom the flag was flown, the flying date, and the occasion.

Flags are available in different sizes and fabrics. All flag purchases include a dedication message, which may be customized for the recipient. Click here to visit the Flag Order Form page on my website.

U.S. Capitol Tour Requests

The beautiful U.S. Capitol Building is open year-round and offers free tours to the public from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Inauguration Day. Tours begin at the Capitol Visitor Center with an excellent orientation film.

You can book timed and guided Capitol tours for individuals and groups on the Capitol Visitors Center website or on my official House website here. All tours include a visit to the Crypt, the Rotunda, and National Statuary Hall but do not include the House Gallery. If you wish to visit the House Gallery, you can stop by my office at 412 Cannon House Office Building to pick up the required gallery passes before your tour.

White House Tour Requests

My congressional office is able to request White House tours on behalf of our constituents. The White House offers timed, self-guided tours Tuesday through Saturday beginning at 7:30 am. Tours are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tour requests may be submitted as early as three months in advance but may not be submitted later than three weeks before the requested tour date.

If you are an 8th District resident and would like to request a White House tour, please submit your request through my website here. We will reach out to you to share further instructions and gather any additional information we may need to submit your White House tour request.

Additional Tours

My congressional office is also able to request tours of the FBI Headquarters, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Library of Congress, Supreme Court and Kennedy Center for constituents. If you would like to book a tour of any of these sites, please submit a request through my website here. We will respond with further instructions and information regarding your request.

Should you have any questions, please contact Josie Feron in my office by calling (202) 225-5341 or emailing josie.feron@mail.house.gov.

It is a surpassing honor to represent you in Congress, and please remember my door is always open!

All Best,
