The People’s Republic of China is leveraging its developing country status to take advantage of countries in need and receive aid to use as a backstop to fund the exploitative Belt and Road Initiative.

That’s why I introduced the PRC is Not a Developing Country Act to ensure the PRC plays by the rules. I’m excited it passed out of the House unanimously this week.

At this week’s Financial Services Committee hearing, I asked about federal and state regulators' missteps to kick the can down the road and allow the Silicon Valley Bank failure, and how we ensure that this will not have a long-term impact on our economy and entrepreneurs’ ability to access capital.

Watch my remarks here.

On National Vietnam War Veterans Day we remember the service, sacrifice and heroism of the Americans who served in the Vietnam War, and we are reminded that many did not receive the appreciation they deserved when they returned.

THANK YOU AND WELCOME HOME! We are grateful always.

Great to see members of the Anaheim City Council in my office this week in town for the National League of Cities to discuss their priorities.

I’m proud to represent Anaheim Hills in Congress and will keep fighting to keep our CA-40 communities prosperous and safe.

STEM opportunities help students get good-paying jobs, strengthen our economy, bolster our national security and boost global competitiveness. That is why STEM workforce and education initiatives continue to be a top priority of mine in Congress.

I am pleased to join the Women in STEM Caucus and will continue advocating for more women in STEM.

Great to see Bob Mosey, president of Mosey’s Production Machinists in Yorba Linda, in DC this week!

We discussed workforce development funding and how we can improve job training and recruitment programs in Yorba Linda.

This week, Chairman Michael McCaul and I sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Treasury Janet Yellen, requesting her to work with the Departments of State and Commerce to ensure that U.S. allies, such as South Korea and Japan, are not negatively impacted by provisions in the partisan Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).

We cannot afford – economically nor militarily – to lose key allies in the Indo-Pacific while the PRC is expanding their military and economic might in the region. Instead, we must focus our efforts on working with allies and partners to build a resilient supply chain that can both supply our economic demands and counter PRC malign influence.

Americans need to be able to trust our financial system. As we learn more about the failures of Silicon Valley Bank, we should find out what the San Francisco Fed and the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation were doing and how the different layers of supervision missed SVB’s risks.

As the only Republican from California on the Financial Services Committee, I will continue to demand answers, follow the facts and fight for American taxpayers.

The PRC is Not a Developing Country Act passed the House unanimously this week and sends a strong bipartisan message that the United States will not let the PRC continue to game the system.

I joined Fox and Friends this week to talk about why this bill matters.

I caught up with the LA Area Chamber about education and training opportunities to equip the next generation of the workforce with the skills and tools they need to get good-paying jobs and contribute to our local economies.

Thank you for stopping by!

I met with the San Bernardino County Development Board this week to discuss improving job training and employment service for our community.

I look forward to continuing to work to create strong job training programs and expand opportunities!

Great to welcome Brea City Councilmembers and city staff to my DC office and catch up on their priorities.

I'm proud to fight for our Brea community in Congress!

Thank you to the California Rural Indian Health Board for stopping by to talk about California’s tribal community.

I will always be a strong voice for this community in Congress and looking forward to finding ways to increase access to care.

Team Young celebrated the grand re-opening of the Braille Institute. As a previously recognized “non-profit of the year” in the city, Lauren Becker and her team continue to prove that there are “no boundaries in sight."

Congratulations!

Presiding over the People’s House!

I am humbled to be able to give back to my CA-40 communities and country that have given me so much and fighting to expand opportunities for all Americans to achieve their dream.

I am excited that my bill, the PRC is Not a Developing Country Act, passed the House this week. Thank you Congressman Steve Scalise for the delicious cookie cake!

The People's Republic of China is the world's second largest economy and should not be classified as a developing country.
