News from Representative Waltz

Dear Friend,

Thank you for reading my newsletter! My team and I continue to work for you and our community. It was a very eventful week and I'm excited to tell you about what we accomplished. Here are some highlights from our district work week:

  • Went undercover as a waiter at DeBary Diner in West Volusia County to serve members of our community breakfast
  • Met with healthcare professionals at AdventHealth Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City to talk about solutions to make our healthcare system more affordable
  • Discussed how I can help achieve our local community goals from Washington with our Volusia County city managers

GOING UNDERCOVER: One of my favorite district activities is going "undercover" to live a day in the life of my constituents by working at a local business. On the latest episode of Undercover Congressman, I served up breakfast, poured coffee and bussed tables at DeBary Diner! DeBary Diner is a beloved staple here in West Volusia County and has been in business for nearly 30 years. They cook up some of the best breakfast around! Sometimes politicians in Washington lose sight of the folks they represent and that's one of the biggest reasons I love these "undercover" days. I also love meeting more people like you, the constituents I represent. I had a great time and was thrilled to help out! Stay tuned for more episodes of Undercover Congressman coming soon!

FINDING HEALTHCARE SOLUTIONS: On Thursday, I traveled to AdventHealth Fish Memorial in Orange City to meet with healthcare professionals and discuss healthcare solutions for our community. We also discussed drug pricing and community outreach. It’s important we care for our community as best as we can and I'm committed to finding solutions to make healthcare affordable!

MEETING WITH VOLUSIA CITY MANAGERS: One of the most important parts of my job as Congressman is working to find solutions for problems affecting our community. Our local, state and federal government officials have to work together to reach our common goals – and that's why I was honored to sit down with our Volusia County city managers to discuss FEMA reimbursements and how we can work together to help keep Florida resilient. We're so lucky to have so many servant leaders dedicated to making our community the best it can be.
