Dear Friend,

Yesterday, Governor Ron DeSantis issued a statewide 30-day stay-at-home order. All citizens are asked to remain at home and limit movement and personal interactions unless it is an essential activity. I have included some information about the order and answers to some frequently asked questions. To see a comprehensive list and read today’s Executive Order in its entirety, click here.

Stay-At-Home Executive Order
  • This order is effective for 30 days starting Thursday, April 2nd at midnight.
  • This order will end on April 30th, 2020 unless extended.
  • Essential activities are permitted during the duration of the statewide shutdown
What are “Essential Activities?” Some of the essential activities that will be permitted during this statewide shutdown include:

  • Going to gas stations
  • Going to healthcare facilities

  • Taking care of pets and caring for or otherwise assisting a loved one or friend
A social gathering in a public space is NOT an essential activity.

According to the office of Governor DeSantis, outdoor exercise is still permitted as long as social distancing guidelines are being followed. However, public beaches remain closed.

Are Restaurants Open for Takeout?
Yes, restaurants and bars are still permitted to be open for takeout and delivery.

What counts as an "Essential Business"?
Banks, grocery stores, pharmacies, veterinarian clinics, healthcare facilities, waste management operations, delivery and transit companies and more are all considered essential during this crisis and are allowed to remain open. For the full list of "Essential Businesses," click here.
