This week I continued our fight to protect our borders and strengthen the security of our nation. After demanding transparency from the Transportation Security Administration on illegal immigrants flying without proper identification, TSA responded by clarifying which alternate DHS-issued forms they accept from migrants at security checkpoints.

According to TSA, an illegal immigrant can present their arrest warrant as an acceptable document to get past security and onto a domestic flight. This means known criminals are boarding planes with American citizens instead of being immediately detained and brought before a judge. Once again, the Biden Administration is putting our national security at risk to prioritize criminals over law-abiding Americans.

GOODEN INTRODUCES THE FAUCI ACT

On Thursday I introduced legislation to demand transparency from the Executive Branch regarding Dr. Fauci’s financial disclosures. As the highest paid federal employee, the American people deserve access to this information. We already know Dr. Fauci made nearly $2 million in the first year of the pandemic while families across the country struggled, but it is also important we get to the bottom of his Chinese investments. The Financial Accountability for Uniquely Compensated Individuals (FAUCI) Act will require Dr. Fauci’s heavily redacted financial disclosures to become accessible to the public.

LIBERAL CITIES WITNESS CRIME SPIKE

Three women tragically lost their lives this week to random acts of violence by homeless individuals, adding to the crime spike in major American cities. In 2021, New York City reached its highest crime level in six years, proving the “defund the police” narrative and liberal leaders’ lax policies are encouraging criminals to run rampant. I introduced the Empowering Local Officials to Combat Homelessness Act, which requires liberal officials in New York and San Francisco to work with law enforcement to improve outcomes for the homeless and ensure the safety of our communities.

Responding to Republican Texas Rep. Lance Gooden’s Dec. 15 inquiry about illegal migrants flying across the country, TSA Administrator David Pekoske explained that certain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) documents may be considered acceptable forms of alternate identification for non-citizens, including a “Warrant for Arrest of Alien” and a “Warrant of Removal/Deportation.”
