Dear Friend,

I've been busy meeting with community leaders and constituents this week to get hear directly from them about challenges facing Southern Californians and how I can support policies in Congress to support them. As gas prices continue surging and inflation drains Americans' finances, it's never been more important for members of Congress to listen the people they serve.

For too long, Washington, D.C. has indulged its never ending tax-and-spend addiction and hard working families have paid for it all. I hear you loud and clear: it's time to kick the reckless spending, rein in burdensome taxes, and give Americans the relief they need.

Get the details about all of this and more below, and make sure to follow my FacebookInstagram, and Twitter to get these updates in real-time.

I joined the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce for their Legislative Breakfast to update constituents on my work to support small business and hear about the challenges facing the community. I look forward to working with FV to help businesses suffering from high inflation, high taxes, and overregulation.

Get Your Education, Serve Our Nation

Image

For students considering their next steps after high school, the Military Service Academies present an exciting opportunity to receive a world-class education and unmatched leadership skills, paid for by the U.S. Military. The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.

Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA); the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA); and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

To request a Military Academy Nomination from my office, please complete the form on my website, and someone my office will be in touch with additional information. In the mean time, visit my website to learn more about the application process.

My team will be hosting an information night for interested applicants. Representatives from the U.S. Military Naval, Air Force, Merchant Marine, and Coast Guard Academies will be present to answer your questions about what it means to attend one of these institutions.

"Pump prices are creeping towards $4 a gallon nationally.

The national average for regular gasoline hit $3.85 a gallon on Monday, according to AAA. That’s the highest level since October 19 and comes just weeks ahead of Labor Day weekend when millions of Americans will hit the roads.

The summer spike in gas prices has eased, with the cost to drivers moving just gradually higher more recently. The national average is up by two cents over the past week."
