Dear Friend:

I hope your week was as nice as mine! I had a busy and fun time back in the Midwest. I got to speak at the Pioneer Equipment Dealers Association Convention and be a part of a panel at the Midwest Agricultural Export Summit. I also got to participate in the Veteran's Day programs in Olivia and Redwood Falls, where I got to talk with so many great students and veterans.

I continue to be deeply concerned with the so called "Build Back Better" reconciliation package. Americans are paying more for everything from gas to canned vegetables, and not just a little bit more. The latest report on the Consumer Price Index revealed that regular gasoline has increased by 51.3% this year! Despite what the Democrats claim, the proposed reconciliation package would increase taxes and spending for everyone. We simply can't afford it.

Thank you to the Pioneer Equipment Dealers Association for having me at your conference! It was great meeting you all and speaking with you about agriculture, supply chain concerns, vaccine mandates, and rural broadband. Thank you so much for all the work you do.

I had a great time at the Agricultural Export Summit participating in a panel discussion with Rep. Dusty Johnson (SD) and Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA). The moderator Ken Barbic, Head of Policy and Government Relations at Farmer's Business Network asked really important questions about challenges facing the Ag industry from the supply chain crisis to the U.S.-China relationship.

I learned a lot at Sanford Health, where I met with leadership and got to tour their reference lab and research center.

Thank you Dan Knight and the Olivia American Legion Post 186 for having me at your Veteran's Day celebration at BOLD High School. It was so great getting to talk with some of you over coffee after the program.

Thank you Redwood Falls for including me in your wonderful Veteran's Day program! It was great meeting more people in your strong community, including Vice Commander Duane Frank, Jr. Vice Commander Dan Meyer, SFC Ret., and Legion Commander Jerry Ludwig.

Coming Up

I'll be in D.C. this week for some exciting meetings and hearings.

I'll be participating in a Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit (CEEC) Subcommittee hearing called "A Look at the Renewable Economy in Rural America" and a Judiciary Committee hearing on arbitration for sexual harassment cases. I'll also be meeting with the Minnesota Ag and Rural Leadership, the National Biodiesel Board, the National Barley Growers Association, and so many more great groups.

As always, my office is open and ready to serve constituents of Minnesota's Seventh Congressional District! Please do not hesitate to get in touch if there is anything I can do to help. Have a great week!

Sincerely,
