Dear Friend,

This week, the House of Representatives has focused our efforts on addressing the skyrocketing costs of energy and our increasing dependence on foreign energy sources. I'm pleased to introduce you to some incredible individuals in our community, and I had the chance to meet with the family of a journalist who is being wrongfully imprisoned by the communist government of Vietnam.

Get the details about all of this and more below, and make sure to follow my FacebookInstagram, and X to get these updates in real-time.

Honoring Distinguished Women

Image

March is Women's History Month, and to mark the occasion, I asked you to nominate outstanding women in Southern California to receive the 2024 Women of Distinction Award for their contributions to our community. From healthcare and education to public safety and philanthropy, this year's nominees represent the best of their fields and the best of our communities.

I’m so glad to be able to honor some of the amazing women right here in California’s 45th District. On behalf of all Southern Californians, I want to thank and commend this year’s Women of Distinction for all they’ve done and continue to do to build their own American Dream and give back to their friends, families, and neighbors.

Meet the 2024 Women of Distinction

I had a great meeting with members of the National Retail Federation to discuss improvements to tax policies that will boost our economy and unleash the free market, I started my American Dream in a retail store and am proud to fight for others doing the same thing.

The government of Vietnam, like the CCP, oppresses anyone who questions their control. This cannot be allowed to continue. I was honored to meet with Le Huu Minh Tuan’s family, along others who are fighting for the freedoms of so many wrongfully imprisoned in Vietnam.

TOMORROW: Community Health & Resource Fair

Image

My office is hosting a Community Health and Resource Fair in Westminster, tomorrow, March 23, 2024, to share information on how to access public services available to Southern Californians.

Representatives from the Department of U.S Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), the Department of Labor (DOL), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and many other local, state, and non-profit resources will be present to answer questions and provide assistance.

Any questions about the event can be directed to my team by phone at (714) 960-6483 or email. As always, we welcome questions, concerns, or requests for assistance with federal agencies at any time.

Unleashing American Energy

Image

It's Energy Week in the House of Representatives, and our focus this week has been on passing legislation to unleash American energy independence by reducing burdensome regulations and supporting innovation and development. Energy costs under this Administration are through the roof. Today's average gas price in Orange County is $4.96/gallon. In Los Angeles, the price is $5.00.

This is not sustainable, and Congress must act to relieve the pressure on American families. That's why I proudly voted for the following pro-energy policies this week:

H.R. 6009 – Restoring American Energy Dominance Act

H.R. 1121 – Protecting American Energy Production Act

H.R. 1023– Cutting Green Corruption and Taxes Act

H.Res. 987 – Denouncing the harmful, anti-American energy policies of the Biden administration

H.Con.Res. 86 – Expressing the sense of Congress that a carbon tax would be detrimental to the United States economy.

I'm committed to bringing down costs for hardworking Southern Californians and ensuring American energy security through an all-of-the-above approach. That's why I'm working with Rep. Susie Lee (D-NV) to pass legislation to tap into the potential of geothermal energy production in Southern California. This bill will help unleash American energy independence by ensuring geothermal energy can be developed more easily in the United States, creating jobs and boosting the economies of cities and small towns, including those in California.
