District Update |January 25, 2021

Dear Friend,

I hope you and your family are continuing to stay healthy and well. We know this last week was challenging for many Arizonans working through the online portal to reserve a vaccine appointment. We have passed along constituent questions and concerns to both the Arizona Department of Health Services and Maricopa County Public Health.

Please know we are working to ensure information and resources get to you as they become available. I recommend continuing to check both the Arizona Department of Health Services and Maricopa County Public Health website. Below you will find additional resources our office is working to provide you.

Time for American Prosperity

Our country has accomplished so much over the last four years under the Trump Administration. I look forward to continuing to fight for these pro-growth policies in Congress, from cutting taxes, to securing our southern border, and implementing strong trade deals.

I want to offer my congratulations to President Biden and Vice President Harris. I look forward to the 117th Congress getting to work on behalf of the millions of Americans we represent, many still facing extreme hardships due to the last year of unprecedented challenges.

The American people sent a stronger Republican minority to Congress, showing they want the House to be focused on solving problems together as a body. We must recognize how we can build upon the success created by the previous Administration, where pro-growth policies have proven to benefit our economy, reducing unemployment, increasing wages, and creating job growth. I look forward to working to advance policy to secure a strong and prosperous future for all Americans.

New Congress, New Legislation

This week I was pleased to reintroduce two pieces of my legislation to advance telehealth. As the 117th Congress finally kicks off, I am continuing to work with my colleagues to introduce legislation to provide convenient and accessible health care for all Americans.

  • The Safe Testing at Residence Telehealth (START) Act of 2021 was reintroduced to continue our much-needed expansion of healthcare technology. One area where we have seen incredibly positive changes has been for seniors utilizing telehealth and at-home care tools. The START Act will provide resources necessary to make sure high-risk individual have access to the testing they need.
  • The Protecting Access to Post-COVID-19 Telehealth Act was re-introduced with my colleagues on the Telehealth Caucus. This bipartisan bill will ensure the expanded use of telehealth after the Coronavirus pandemic continues, allowing Medicare beneficiaries to continue to connect with their doctor from the comfort of their home.

I look forward to continuing to work on expanding access to health care services, and advancing new technologies to help crash the price of health care.

Thank You, AZ National Guard

Thank you to Arizona's own National Guard for spending the last few weeks in Washington, DC protecting the Capitol. The men and women of the National Guard have stood strong and kept those of us on Capitol Hill safe. We can't thank you all enough for the bravery and selfless actions you take on a daily basis.

We are so thankful for all of our military service members both serving on active duty and those retired for their service to our nation. I wanted to provide you with links to resources for veterans on our website:

I am working to ensure Arizonans are kept up to date on any COVID-19 related news and resources on my website. I understand many individuals have been facing extreme frustrations with the registration website, and my team and I are doing our best to assist those struggling during this process. The COVID-19 vaccine distribution process is ongoing in our state, and so far over 300,000 doses have been administered to individuals across Arizona. Maricopa County is currently in Phase 1B, those included in this group and eligible to register for a vaccine are:

  • K-12 teachers and staff
  • Childcare workers
  • Law enforcement/protective service workers
  • People age 75 and older

Currently, all appointments are booked through February at the State Farm Arena and Phoenix Municipal Stadium. Visit the resources below for more information on upcoming vaccinations.
