Confronting and Controlling COVID-19

Dear Friend,

Below you will find a recap of resources and information related to the COVID-19 outbreak. To ensure you're receiving the latest updates from Washington and across West Texas, I encourage you to follow me on Twitter and Facebook and sign up for my weekly newsletter.

First and foremost – I am urging the West Texas community to heed the advice of the Administration and health officials at every level of government.

The next few weeks will be critical to our success for getting control of this virus and getting back to normal. Please be persistent in practicing exceptional hygiene, avoiding large gatherings, and self-quarantining if you or members of your household are sick.

When dealing with a novel virus, we must all do our part. Even with no signs or symptoms, you can still carry and spread this virus, jeopardizing the health of our most vulnerable populations – the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.

I assure you that the Trump Administration and Congress are doing everything in their power to protect our families and support our communities through this challenging time. America is strong, our people are resilient, and together we will prevail over this pandemic, and our communities will be even stronger as a result.

Stay vigilant, but remain connected. Even within the walls of our own homes, modern technology allows us to connect with loved ones across the street or across the globe. I encourage each of you to reach out to family and friends, check in on older relatives and neighbors, and reaffirm the most important thing in life - our relationships.

Finally, let’s use this time to remember that in this ever changing world, God is always constant.  His providential hand has been upon this great nation for over 240 years.  We have the opportunity to live out our motto, In God We Trust, by praying for each other, for our President and all elected leaders, and for those affected by the virus.

If you’re experiencing symptoms that may be related to the Coronavirus, such as fever and shortness of breath, please call your doctor immediately.
