1. Secure the border and combat illegal immigration

Legal immigration and visa programs are vital to rural economies, but those programs are undermined when people illegally flood our border and disrespect our laws. The Biden administration has stopped construction of the border wall and appointed his Vice President as the "border czar" who has yet to take any action to curb, or even acknowledge the crisis. As a result, there have been over 3.5 MILLION illegal border crossings and almost 20,000 POUNDS of deadly fentanyl have been found at the border, enough to kill every American almost 13 times over. And Democrats want to take it even further, proposing mass amnesty for illegal immigrants. Their radical open-border policies are dangerous for our communities and a threat to our national security.

In order to secure our southern border, we need to fully fund effective border enforcement strategies, infrastructure, and advanced technology to prevent illegal crossings and trafficking by cartels. We need to end catch-and-release loopholes. And we need to require proof of legal status to get a job and eliminate welfare incentives. 

2. Reduce crime and protect public safety

2021 saw the highest murder rate in over 20 years. We have seen a 20 year high of intentional killing of law enforcement. And fentanyl kills 300 Americans every week, making it the leading cause of death for people ages 18-45. As a direct result of the Left's "defund the police" and soft-on-crime policies, America is less safe and our law enforcement is demoralized.

Republicans firmly believe in supporting our law enforcement and creating safe communities across our country. To do that, we oppose any and all efforts to defund the police. We should use recruiting and retention bonuses to support 200,000 more police officers. We plan to crack down on prosecutors and district attorneys who refuse to prosecute crime. And, we need to permanently criminalize all forms of illicit fentanyl, something the Democrats have repeatedly blocked on the House Floor.

3. Defend America's national security

Less than one year into his presidency, Joe Biden led a disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, killing 13 U.S. service members and leaving behind $7 billion in our military equipment. He has failed to stand up to the Chinese Community Party and he has promoted Russian energy while undermining U.S. production. Because of his lack of leadership and the Left's decision to prioritize diversity and inclusion over the defense of our country, only 45% of Americans say they have "a great deal of trust and confidence" in the U.S. military. Meanwhile, the Chinese navy is now the largest in the world with roughly 360 vessels in their fleet.

The Biden administration's weakness is emboldening our adversaries. Republicans will always support our troops and we will prioritize investing in an efficient, effective military. We will establish a Select Committee on China and we will exercise peace through strength to counter increasing global threats.
