News from Representative Carson

October 30, 2020

Dear Friend,

I am urging you to vote in this year’s election. Many have described it as the most important election of our lifetimes, and this may well be the case. So much is at stake right now -- our health, our livelihoods, our fundamental rights, and so much more. If you want to move our country forward, sitting out this election is simply not an option.

There is good news even today for access to early voting for Indianapolis voters. Today, the Marion County Election Board unanimously agreed to make Lucas Oil Stadium an early voting site and an election day voting center. I’m extremely pleased that Indianapolis is utilizing this large space to help make it easier for Hoosiers to participate fully in our Democracy in a safe manner during this pandemic. Despite this positive development, it’s clear that there are still many barriers to voting that we must knock down. I will continue working hard in Congress to fight voter suppression across the country, and make it easier for Americans to vote instead of making it harder.

As COVID-19 surges to record levels in our state, it’s also extremely important that we vote safely. When you go to the polls, be sure to wear a mask and maintain a safe social distance -- 6 feet in front and 6 feet behind as you wait in line. Please know that nothing --- not even a pandemic -- will stop us from exercising our right to vote. However, we must vote safely and responsibly to slow the spread of this deadly virus that has taken the lives of so many of our fellow Hoosiers.

Thank you for always making your voice heard, especially in these extremely challenging times. It remains the honor of my life to be able to uplift your voice in Congress.
