District Update |October 12, 2021

Dear Friend,

I hope you are doing well and you enjoyed your weekend. Below is an update of my recent work at home and in Congress.

More Red Flags in the Democrats' $3.5 Trillion Package

Image

This past week, I spoke at the Joint Economic Committee's virtual hearing about the Democrats' $3.5 trillion bill.

The left has made a commitment that they will pay for every dime of the spending in this package and it is promise that has been reaffirmed numerous times by my Democratic colleagues. Not living up to that promise would mean tax increases on everyone, regardless of income.

However, my concerns stretch far beyond these tax hikes. I discussed my concern that the transfer payment model proposed in this legislation could stagnate the social and economic growth of the middle-class well into the future, by keeping them reliant on the federal government for financial security. Implementing such a model should be thoroughly researched if there are any risk factors. To do anything less would be damaging and playing politics. I will continue to highlight the red flag provisions within this massive spending bill.

Arizona Chamber of the Year Summit

Image

Last week, I had a great time participating on a panel alongside other noteworthy individuals around Arizona for the Arizona Chamber of the Year Summit.

During the panel, we had the opportunity to discuss the ramifications that Covid-19 protocols have unfortunately had on small businesses over the past year, and what it could mean for them going forward.

I am concerned that continued mandates and restrictions on small business' ability to function at full-capacity, could cause irreversible damage and hurt local economies. I will continue to fight against these harmful regulations and find ways to keep local businesses prospering.
