Dear Friend:

Last week, the House passed H.R. 2811, the Limit, Save, Grow Act. This bill will limit federal spending, save taxpayer dollars, and grow the economy. In exchange for these pro-growth policies, the debt ceiling would be responsibly lifted until next year.

Republicans are committed to reining in the irresponsible spending in Washington and passing legislation that truly helps Americans. We have a great leadership team, and I appreciate that we were able to work together to address and understand the issues that are important to Minnesota's 7th District to pass this necessary legislation.

Now, this bill will go to the Senate. I hope the Senate and President Biden will be as serious as House Republicans in their debt ceiling negotiations.

Ways and Means Field Hearing: Peachtree City, GA

During a Ways & Means field hearing in Peachtree City, Georgia, we talked with members of the Peachtree City community about the struggles small businesses are facing. Not every idea that comes out of DC is a good one, and Ways & Means Republicans are committed to working on REAL ways the government could be helpful to Americans.

Protecting Women and Girls in Sports Act

We all know there are biological differences between men and women, regardless how a person identifies. Ignoring these differences and allowing biological men to participate in women's sports puts women and girls at an inherent disadvantage and robs them of rewards for their hard work and perseverance. Unfortunately, the Biden administration has released a regulation that would eliminate states' ability to protect women and girls from discrimination in athletics by ignoring the biological differences between men and women and the impacts those differences have on women in sports.

The House passed H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to prevent Biden's radical regulatory scheme and strengthen the amazing progress that has been made for women's sports by Title IX.

This legislation states that sex in the athletic context must be recognized based only on a person's reproductive biology and genetics at birth. It makes it a violation of Title IX for a recipient of federal financial assistance who operates, sponsors, or facilitates athletic programs or activities to permit a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls. It also clarifies that nothing prohibits these recipients from permitting males to train or practice with an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls so long as no female is deprived of any benefit that accompanies participating in the athletic program or activity.
