District Update |February 21, 2022

Dear Friend,

I hope you had a productive week and a restful weekend. Below, please find an update of my past work-week on behalf of the 6th District of Arizona.

Happy President's Day!

I hope each and everyone of you enjoyed your President's Day. With each passing year, this holiday has always served as a day of deep appreciation for our nation's great leaders, and it is also a day of personal reflection as your Representative serving you in Congress.

Ways and Means Committee Hearing on Infrastructure

Image

Last week, I took part in a Ways and Means Committee hearing that focused on the economic impact of federal infrastructure investment. During the hearing, I brought up the great success Arizona has had with infrastructure at the state and local level, and that the federal government is just too big and bloated to recognize the needs of our local community. A one size fits all solution to infrastructure will not work, and throwing billions of dollars towards it is irresponsible.

Photo Competition

Have you submitted a picture for our 6th District Photo Competition? If not, please make sure to send one in before the end of the month!

All you have to do is take a snapshot of somewhere that showcases Arizona's natural beauty within the 6th district and tag me in the photo on either Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram for a chance to be featured! Be sure to use the hashtag #SchweikertScenicShot to enter.

Congressional Award

Have you heard about the Congressional Award? It’s the highest honor Congress can give to America’s youth. But this award isn’t just given out, it’s earned. If you want to learn more about the Congressional Award and how to you or a loved one can participate, click this link: https://www.congressionalaward.org/

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to get up to date on the recent happenings at home in our 6th district, and in Congress. I always appreciate your thoughtful feedback and strongly encourage you to reach out to my office.

Sincerely,

David Schweikert
