News from Representative Larson

Dear Friends,

President Biden’s American Rescue Plan was passed and signed into law March 11.  The Plan included $1,400 in direct aid to many Americans to help them get by during the pandemic.  Many Americans have received their $1,400 stimulus payments already but others have not. More than 1.5 million households in Connecticut will receive these payments. I fought on the Ways and Means Committee to keep the income limits at $75,000 for individuals and $150,000 for couples due to the high cost of living in Connecticut.

On April 7th, the batch of stimulus payments for Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries was finally released. These payments were delayed because the Social Security Administration didn’t send the needed information to the IRS in a timely manner. As Chairman of the Social Security Subcommittee, I pushed the Social Security Administration and the IRS!

As a result of our efforts, the payments were finally disbursed on April 7, 2021, many through direct deposit.

The IRS expects to deliver stimulus payments to VA beneficiaries on April 14.

If you haven’t received your payment, you should visit the IRS get my payment tool: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment or you can call the IRS at 800-919-9835. If you need additional assistance you can call my office at 860-278-8888 and we will do our best to assist you.
