Dear Friend,

As COVID-19 continues to impact Coastal Virginians, we must work together toward economic recovery. In March, I voted for the CARES Act to give our Commonwealth the resources it needs to support families and individuals throughout our communities. I am pleased Governor Northam allocated $30 million in CARES Act funding toward the Re-Employing Virginians (REV) initiative to help Virginians develop in-demand skills.

REV provides scholarships to eligible individuals to enroll in a workforce or community college program in five industries, including:

  1. health care;
  2. information technology;
  3. skilled trades;
  4. public safety; and
  5. early childhood education.

Recipients will receive a one-time scholarship of $3,000 to register in a qualifying full-time workforce program and $1,500 to register part-time or in a short-term, noncredit training program.

Interested individuals should contact their local community college as soon as possible to apply before the December 14, 2020 enrollment deadline. Information about eligibility criteria and applying for a REV scholarship is available here. Hampton Roads residents can learn more here.

Please know that my team and I stand ready to assist our community during this time of need. For resources to help you and your family navigate through COVID-19, please visit our website. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our offices via the phone numbers below.
