The Democrats' Radical Agenda Rolls On

Dear Neighbor,

Congress reconvened for business this week in our Nation's Capitol as Democrats continued to push their radical agenda on the American people. This week, Democrats passed, on strict party lines, abortion on-demand with no regard for the lives of our most vulnerable. In addition to their radical pro-choice policies, congressional Democrats voted to increase the debt limit, which will burden future generations. If all of this wasn't bad enough, Democrats attempted to leave Israel undefended by defunding the Iron Dome program that helps to protect our strongest ally in the Middle East.

I am more resolved than ever before to fight back against the Democrats' radical leftist agenda.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

Meeting With Fresh Produce Suppliers

Image

It was great meeting with members of the United Fresh Produce Association this week in D.C. as we discussed challenges facing Florida fresh produce growers, suppliers, and distributors. I am committed to supporting farmers in Florida and across the country, and will advocate for solutions to bolster this critical part of America's food supply chain. As the lone Florida Republican on the House Agriculture Committee, I'm always proud to support our Florida farmers and ranchers in the Sunshine State.

Democrats Raise Debt Ceiling & Socialist Agenda

Image

The vote to extend government funding through December was easy to oppose. This bill is nothing but a blank check for Speaker Pelosi and the liberal Left. It opens the door to $3.5T in new spending while our country struggles with the crisis in Afghanistan, the disastrous border surge, and levels of inflation we haven't seen in years. This is a tax on all Americans and we're sick and tired of this administration setting future generations up for failure.

Sec. Mayorkas Makes Mockery Of Border Security

Image

Secretary Mayorkas still thinks the border is secure. During this week's Homeland Security hearing, Sec. Mayorkas was continually evasive and frustrated at my colleagues' and my line of questioning. When asked about the crisis at our southern border, he called my assertions "offensive," and it sure isn't the first time. When the man responsible for securing our borders and keeping this country safe won't answer questions, evades the truth, and doesn't stick up for those in his charge, we've got a real problem.

Rep. Cammack Joins FBN's Maria Bartiromo

Image

It was great to join FBN's Maria Bartiromo this week to discuss my questioning of DHS Secretary Mayorkas in the Homeland Security Committee. His continued claims that the border is secure are laughably wrong. The Biden administration has failed miserable to secure our border and protect Americans. Secretary Mayorkas, President Biden, and congressional Democrats need to be held accountable for this failed leadership and inaction.

Standing Up For America's Most Vulnerable

Image

House Democrats pushed their radical abortion agenda through Congress this week. They call it the Women's Health Protection Act, which is oxymoronic because it's about anything but protecting women's health. It codifies universal, unlimited access to abortion, permanently eliminating pro-life protections like the Hyde Amendment, and allows abortion up until the very late stages of pregnancy. I know what it means to stand for life. I wouldn't be here if my mom hadn't valued life because against all odds and pressure from family members, she took a stand and brought me into this world when it seemed like abortion was the only option. My mom took a stand for life then, and I stand for life now.

You can watch my full remarks in support of life here.

Taking A Stand Against Vaccine Mandates

Image

I will not let tyrannical officials dictate the personal medical decisions of our citizens with unconstitutional mandates. Abusive government overreach at all levels is intrusive, unconstitutional, and will not stand up in court. Vaccine mandates? To that, I say hell no.

Meeting With Miss Florida

Image

I enjoyed meeting Miss Florida, Leah Roddenberry, this week in my office. She is an incredible young leader and representative for the State of Florida. She just so happens to be a graduate of the University of Florida, and was kind enough to share a copy of her book about her advocacy in Washington with me. She will be competing in the Miss America competition later this year and I know that she has a great chance of bringing home the win for the Sunshine State.

DHS Vows To Have Findings Within 'Days' In Investigation Of Border Patrol's Treatment Of Haitian Migrants (USA Today)

In a terse exchange, Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., asked Mayorkas how many agents stationed at the border had been pulled off that duty to process Afghans coming into the USA after the military withdrawal from their home country last month. She said agents had been removed "to process and essentially babysit" Afghans. Mayorkas said he disagreed with Cammack’s characterization of that work before she shot back that she "didn’t ask if you disagreed" and called it "a disgrace" that agents in one of the busiest sectors had been pulled off their duty.

Rep. Cammack To Newsmax: Senate Dems May Even Try Firing Parliamentarian (Newsmax)

Democrats will try everything to restore immigration in their $3.5 trillion spending plan, potentially even firing the Senate parliamentarian who ruled that the matter should not be included in the reconciliation plan, Rep. Kat Cammack said on Newsmax Monday. And if that happens, the Florida Republican told Newsmax's "National Report," "Americans across the country should just absolutely call out this blatant hypocrisy for the rules of procedure." On Sunday, the Parliamentarian ruled that the immigration reform push was "by any standard a broad, new immigration policy" and that the policy change "substantially outweighs the budgetary impact of that change."

Rep. Cammack Blasts Dems' Push For Tax Hikes: 'Biden Blueprint To Bankrupt America' (Fox News)

Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., the youngest Republican woman in Congress, said Friday that President Biden's plan to raise taxes for corporations and high-income earners is a "blueprint" to bankrupt America.
