Dear ,

I hope you and your family are doing well! I wanted to provide a few updates on my work this past week for the residents of Arizona’s First Congressional District and remind you of some upcoming events for high school students.

Also, as one last reminder, the federal tax filing deadline is tomorrow. If you are in need of last minute assistance, please click here. The IRS is available 24 hours a day to assist with any help you may need or answer any questions you may have. My website also has tax tips taken directly from information the IRS has publicly shared, which you can see here.

Meeting With Members of Scottsdale Leadership

Image

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting with several members of Scottsdale Leadership to discuss their passion and commitment to invest in our local communities. I look forward to seeing how they implement the leadership skills they've learned to leave a lasting footprint for future generations to continue to thrive.

2023 Service Academies Conference Reminder

We're just a few weeks out from our annual Service Academies Conference. Students and parents are invited to come learn more about the congressional application process for our nation's premier military service academies directly from my staff and academy liaison representatives on Saturday, May 6, at Arcadia High School from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students are encouraged to RSVP at https://schweikert.house.gov/academy-rsvp/.

For additional questions, please refer to the Service Academy Applications page on my website or contact Chelsea Lett, Service Academy Coordinator, in my District Office at (480) 946-2411.

What I’m Reading & Why It Matters

Image

This week, I want to share with you the "Build Your Own Discretionary Budget" interactive tool created by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget that allows users to set future appropriations levels and learn how much these levels will cost or save relative to current projections. If you've ever wanted to learn how Congress sets its annual spending levels, this tool gives unique insight into the federal budget timeline and a thorough overview of the appropriations process. Watch one of my recent floor speeches to understand just how challenging this task will be for years to come.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update on my latest work in Washington, D.C. and Arizona’s First Congressional District! If you have any comments or concerns, I encourage you to reach out to my office.

Sincerely,
