Protecting Florida's Tomato Growers

Last week, I joined Senator Marco Rubio and my Florida colleagues in calling on the Commerce Department to reject a request that seeks to exempt specialty greenhouse tomatoes imported from Mexico. For far too long, Florida's growers have been subject to unfair trade practices with a flood of products into the U.S. from Mexico and other Central American countries. As the lone Florida Republican on the House Agriculture Committee, I'm committed to ensuring Florida growers aren't harmed by all fresh and chilled tomatoes imported from Mexico.

Surging Gas Prices At Home And Around The U.S.

Oil prices this week surged to a 14-year high, while gasoline prices jumped past $4 per gallon to near a national record. As gas prices across Northeast and North Central Florida continue to rise daily, we're feeling the pain at the pump and it is due in part to the reckless energy policies put forward by congressional Democrats and the White House.

We have the infrastructure, the employees, and the resources to unleash our domestic energy capabilities with the Keystone Pipeline, but this administration is too worried about changing course that they're willing to purchase oil from Russia and Saudi Arabia instead of using the incredible—and readily available—resources right here at home.

Agriculture Committee Hearing On Rural Broadband

During Tuesday morning's House Agriculture Subcommittee hearing on rural development, I emphasized the importance of broadband services for rural communities that need it most. Today, more than 10 percent of my constituents in North Central Florida are living without access to non-satellite internet. It's unacceptable that in an increasingly internet-reliant world that heavily depends on quick upload and download speeds for everything from e-commerce to virtual education and work, there are still Floridians and Americans who do not have reliable internet access.

Oil Crisis Amidst The Russia-Ukraine War

On Wednesday, I joined Fox Business to discuss the oil crisis and Democrats' hypocrisy over rising gas prices. While Americans across the country are feeling the pain at the pump, when is the last time that Biden or any one of his staffers or Nancy Pelosi and her cronies actually went and fueled up? For folks on fixed incomes, the question becomes whether or not to fill up the gas tank or to get groceries each week.

We have to unleash our domestic energy production instead of turning to Iran and Venezuela—two countries who wish nothing but ill will to America—and stop this nonsense. You can watch the full clip here or by clicking the button below.

Harris Laughs On The World Stage

Last night, I joined Chris Salcedo on Newsmax with my friend and colleague Rep. Beth Van Duyne to talk about VP Harris's trip to Poland and her gaffes on the world stage. When asked about Ukrainian refugees, not only did she cackle for the cameras, but she also deferred U.S. policy to the Polish president. It's not only disappointing, but completely unacceptable that this is the behavior we see from someone who represents the United States on the world stage. The time for thoughtful, pragmatic leadership is now, and this administration leaves a lot to be desired.

Attending The American Values Dinner

Last week, while I made my way back to Florida on Thursday evening, Team Kat's Josh attended Palatka's American Values Dinner hosted by the local Boy Scouts of America. This year's honoree was Putnam County Sheriff's Office Sheriff Gator DeLoach for his hard work on behalf of Putnam County and the great folks in Florida's Third Congressional District. Thanks to the Boy Scouts for all they do for our area; it certainly does not go unnoticed.

Alachua County Youth Fair Celebrity Show

Over the weekend, my team and I had a blast at the Alachua County Youth Fair! I got to see the incredible hard work of youth in Florida's Third Congressional District as they showed their animals and displayed the skills they've learned over the years. Our agriculture and youth fairs are so important to young people in North Central Florida and I always relish this time of year with these amazing springtime events. Thanks to the great team in Alachua for hosting me, and I look forward to making my way around Florida's Third in the coming weeks. See you soon, Bradford, Clay, Marion, Putnam, and Union!

Visiting Camp Blanding & The Florida National Guard

This past weekend at Camp Blanding, I had the opportunity to join Maj. Gen. Eifert and the Florida National Guard team for the Florida Youth Challenge Academy Family Day. The cadets demonstrated their skills and learning so far, sharing their hard work with friends and family. I was proud to witness young members of Florida's military in action as they prepare to defend and serve the Sunshine State.
