National Agriculture Week & Biden's Disastrous Iran Nuclear Deal

Dear Neighbor,

It was a busy week for the Florida's Third, with National Agriculture Week and special visits to Fox News and Newsmax on Monday to discuss Biden's disastrous plan to re-join the Iran Nuclear Deal, soaring gas prices, the Supreme Court nomination hearings, and more. After more than a year and a half of conducting interviews online, it was fantastic being back in-person to talk about the key issues facing our nation at home and abroad.

During National Agriculture Week, we celebrated our district's and America's farming families and the goods they share across the country. I partnered with Senator Joni Ernst (Iowa), Senator Tina Smith (MN), and Rep. Angie Craig (MN) to designate March 24 as National Women in Agriculture Day to honor American women’s vital roles as producers, educators, and leaders who help agriculture prosper.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

In Liberty,

Celebrating National Agriculture Week

Image

This week marked National Agriculture Week—a week to celebrate all of Florida's incredible farmers, producers, ranchers, and more who work so hard to make all of our state's industries the best in the country. Florida is home to dozens of commodities, including many grown right here in Florida's Third Congressional District.

We know that food security is national security and our producers make that possible by helping to keep us fed, healthy, and safe, right here in the U.S. If you've eaten today, please thank a farmer, and give thanks for all it takes to get that delicious Florida strawberry/blueberry/orange, etc. from the field to your table.

Happy National Agriculture Week from all of us at Team Kat! You can view our National Agriculture Week video here or by clicking the button below.

Joining Fox & Friends To Talk Iran's Nuclear Deal

Image

I stopped by New York City with our friends at Fox News to talk about the latest from D.C., including the Biden administration's boneheaded plans to reassess the Iran nuclear deal. After President Trump and Secretary Pompeo exhibited maximum pressure to bring Iran to heel, this administration is ruining it and returning to Obama-era policies that weaken the U.S. on the world stage.

Recognizing World Down Syndrome Day

Image

Monday, March 21st celebrated World Down Syndrome Day, a day to embrace the incredibly special folks who don't view Downs as a disability, but as a beautiful gift. I especially am thinking of Zion and his family after his passing last year after not receiving a necessary heart transplant because of his Downs status.

My hope is that the next generation continues to view Down Syndrome as a blessing.

Inflation At The Pump Hurting Americans Everywhere

Image

I also sat down with Stu Varney on Varney & Co. in-studio to discuss the rising gas prices we are seeing around the country. Folks in North Central Florida know the hard facts about what's happening to our wallets due to Bidenflation. When we stop at the gas station to fill up our tanks, we're paying upwards of $2 more/gallon than we did even just last year. With the prices of everyday goods and services rising, folks across America can't keep up.

Letter To Secretary Blinken On Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps

Image

This week, I signed Florida Congressman Scott Franklin's letter to Secretary Blinken on his decision to consider removing the Iran Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from its Foreign Terrorist Organization designation as part of a new nuclear deal with Iran. It hasn't gotten a lot of attention, but not only is this move boneheaded, backwards, and one that has serious implications for our national security, it only shows how dangerously out-of-touch this administration truly is.

Designating March 24th As "National Women In Agriculture Day"

Image

During National Agriculture Week and Women's History Month, I led a bipartisan, bicameral resolution with Senator Joni Ernst, Senator Tina Smith, and Representative Angie Craig to designate March 24 "National Women In Agriculture Day." In Florida's Third, we know how important women are to our farmers, ranches, and agribusiness operations, leading with integrity, professionalism, and grit. It's long past time we give them the official recognition they deserve and thank them for all of their hard work to keep us happy, healthy, and fed.

Joining Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla

Image

This week, I went live on Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla. We talked about my journey to Congress, what the America of our youth looked like, and the news of the day! Addressing Tornado Strikes In Marion County

Image

Two weeks ago, Marion County was hit hard by heavy storms and tornadoes that went undetected by the National Weather Service (NWS). During the storm, the radar in Jacksonville was down for maintenance, leaving residents unprepared and dismayed by the damage. I spoke with WCJB news earlier this week about the situation, and it was absolutely unacceptable that there was no notice and no warning. I remain committed to receiving answers on why this happened and making sure it does not happen again.

Thankfully, Governor Ron DeSantis visited the storm damage in Ocala and announced more than $29 million is available to Floridians impacted by these storms. If you need help accessing these funds or filing a claim, please give our office a call in Gainesville at 352-505-0838.

Visiting Worldwide Aquaponics In Palatka

Image

This week, my team visited the Worldwide Aquaponics in Palatka as part of the UF/IFAS Putnam County Agritourism tour. This farm produces shrimp, fish, and a variety of produce, and also supplies local schools with produce for student lunches. The team at Worldwide Aquaponics discussed regenerative farming, water conservation, and their fresh produce operation, focusing on how local produce continues to be an important force for our local economy.

It's always great to see the wonderful agricultural operations we have in Florida's Third Congressional District and I'm excited for more of these tours later this year.

National Medal Of Honor Day

Image

Today is National Medal of Honor Day and a recognition of the bravery, courage, and sacrifice demonstrated by American heroes. The Medal of Honor is the highest military award for valor in the United States.

On this day I think most of Florida's Third Congressional District Veteran of the Year, Corporal Duane Edgar Dewey, who passed last year after a lifetime of service to his country. Known as the "Man of Steel" in Florida's Third Congressional District, Corporal Dewey received the Medal of Honor in March 1953 from President Dwight D. Eisenhower following his heroic actions near Panmunjom, Korea with the machine gun platoon of Company E of the United States Marine Corps.

To all our veterans and Medal of Honor recipients, we thank you for your courage, heroism, and sacrifice, every day and on this day especially.

Rep. Kat Cammack Slams Biden’s Push For A New Iran Deal (RSBN)

Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., roasted Joe Biden's new nuclear deal with Iran in an exclusive interview with Fox & Friends, calling it a "unilateral deal being put together by this administration" because Biden knows he "can’t get a deal through Congress."

"Unacceptable" Two Florida NWS Radar Systems Failed To Warn Of Tornado That Did $15 Million In Damage (News Break)

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently announced that almost $30 million was available to help the Ocala area recover from a tornado. The twister did an estimated $15 million in damages as it ripped through the community on March 12. The damage assessment is continuing. No one was killed in the storm. But U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack, a Gainesville Republican who represents Ocala, is concerned about a related issue: What happened to the early warning system?

Florida Republicans Join Bill Cassidy To Ensure U.S. Exports More Liquified Natural Gas (Florida Daily)

This week, U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., brought out the "Small-Scale LNG Access Act" which is being championed in the U.S. Senate by Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La. According to Cassidy’s office, the bill would speed up "the approval of natural gas exports equal to or less than 51.1 billion cubic feet per year" since these small-scale exports would be deemed consistent with the public interest and granted without modification or delay.
