Lifted Mask Mandates & Hypocrisy At The Southern Border

Dear Neighbor,

After a Florida judge lifted the federal mask mandate for airplanes and public transportation earlier this week, citing the CDC's lack of authority and failure to follow proper rulemaking procedures in her decision, the administration took measures to appeal the case.

Meanwhile, even Democrats themselves are starting to speak out against their own policies, as eight Senators and House members recently voiced their concerns over the administration's decision to end Title 42. While Nancy Pelosi extends proxy voting because of the "public health emergency," Democrats' concerns about public health cease to exist when illegals are crossing the border at an alarming rate. It's only going to get worse with the expiration of Title 42 approaching, and Democrats know the American people won't stand for it.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

Hypocrisy From The Left As Title 42 Comes To An End

Image

Last week, I joined Larry Kudlow on Fox Business to discuss the end of Title 42 and the hypocrisy coming from the left. Nancy Pelosi just extended proxy voting because of a "public health emergency" and now the administration announced it would extend the mask mandate on planes. Yet somehow a public health measure to keep Americans safe at the southwest border just magically goes away?

This is hypocrisy at its finest and even Democrats know it. Members of their own party have voiced opposition to ending Title 42 because of how this disastrous move will worsen conditions at the border. Just days after the administration's announcement to repeal the Trump-era policy, CBP learned that a new migrant caravan is expected to arrive on the very same day Title 42 ends.

Discussing Florida Judge's Decision To Lift Federal Mask Mandate For Airplanes & Travel

Image

On Wednesday, I joined Jimmy Failla on Fox Across America to discuss the end of the federal mask mandate for airplanes and travel. For far too long the rights of individuals have been infringed upon by this administration's unconstitutional, baseless mask mandates. The science has demonstrated for months now that masks on airplanes do very little to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and despite a Florida judge's common sense decision to end the mandate, the administration is still trying to tell Americans that masks remain "necessary to protect the public health."

Alerting Local Officials About Immigrant Drop-Offs

Image

Yesterday, I signed Representative Michael Guest's legislation, the Early Migration Alert Program (E-MAP) Act, requiring ICE and CBP to notify local law enforcement agencies of an impending release of migrants into their jurisdictions. As we prepare for another migrant surge with the end to Title 42, local officials must be notified when illegal immigrants are being dropped off in communities across the country. It's sad that we've reached this point in our country, but I'm grateful to Rep. Guest for his leadership on this critical issue.

Visiting E-One Manufacturing In Ocala

Image

Last week, our team had the opportunity to visit E-One in Ocala, a world-recognized and renowned manufacturer of fire apparatus, including extruded aluminum and stainless steel ladders, platforms, pumpers, tankers, rescues, industrials, and ARFFs. We're proud to have E-One in Ocala and as the wife of a first responder, I'm so grateful for all the work this bunch does to keep our firefighters and emergency rescue personnel safe. Florida stands with our first responders always, and I thank Team E-One for everything they do to support our heroes.

Asking Constituents About The Effects Of Gas Prices

Image

This week, we asked folks in Florida's Third Congressional District to tell us what the effects of higher gas prices are in their daily lives. Many told us gas costs at least $80/week, making it more expensive to get to work and do business. Though the Biden administration will continue to punt the blame, we all know what's really the cause. It's time for America to become energy independent again and decrease our reliance on oil from abroad.

Attending The First Coast Manufacturers Association General Meeting

Image

On Tuesday, my team and I attended the First Coast Manufacturers Association General Meeting at CMC Steel Florida outside Jacksonville. We talked about commonsense approaches for our business owners, eliminating unnecessary red tape that harms our manufacturers and complicates our current supply chain issues.

We also discussed growing cyber threats against critical infrastructure here in the U.S., ensuring our manufacturers are protected from cybersecurity challenges that threaten our hardworking folks in the Sunshine State. We're fortunate to have strong manufacturers in the region and I'm so proud of their work to support our local economy.
