A Nationwide Baby Formula Shortage

Dear Neighbor,

Amid a shortage of baby formula across the country, I heard from Border Patrol agents in Texas about full pallets of baby formula at the southern border. I took to Facebook to share this information and spread awareness about what's really happening behind the scenes.

While American parents around the nation are struggling to find formula—with shelves from nearly every major store empty—we are sounding the alarm. While this shortage is just another crisis that the Biden administration has created, American parents need answers.

This week, we're also recognizing all of our law enforcement officers during National Police Week for the courageous work they do to protect our local communities. As the wife of a first responder myself, I will always Back The Blue, and I thank the law enforcement officers from Florida's Third Congressional District during this special week.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

Blasting Biden Administration Over Photos Of Baby Formula At Southern Border

Image

Amid a nationwide shortage of baby formula, I was shocked to learn earlier this week that there are full pallets of baby formula at processing facilities at our southern border. Back in November, the Biden administration shut down a leading manufacturer of baby formula in the United States with no plan to backfill the 43 percent of product that would be lost due to the shutdown.

I took to Facebook to share the images I received from Border Patrol agents themselves. The Biden administration is entirely responsible for this shortage, and I'm not going to be silent on this issue.

Joining Sean Hannity To Discuss Pallets Of Baby Formula At The Southern Border

Border Patrol agents themselves sent me photo and video evidence of pallets at the southern border, despite the fact that American parents at home are struggling to find this product on store shelves.

We shouldn't even be having this conversation. If it weren't for the absolute disaster the Biden administration truly is, there wouldn't be a formula shortage in the first place.

Discussing Inflation, Shortages & Kitchen Table Issues For Americans

Image

This morning, I joined Varney & Co. to discuss inflation, rising costs, and kitchen table issues for Americans. Over the last year and five months, this administration has created crisis after crisis—the southern border, supply chain issues, inflation, gas prices, crime rates, and more. With few being taken to resolve these issues, the Biden administration has made it perfectly clear they don't care about Americans here at home, and instead place blame on anyone but themselves.

Parents Worried Over Nationwide Shortage Of Baby Formula

Image

Today, I joined Fox & Friends to discuss the nationwide response to baby formula shortages across the country. Without access to this formula, which is critical to an infant's development and growth, parents everywhere are panicking as they see empty shelves and limits to purchase in locations where supply is low.

Honoring Law Enforcement Officers During National Police Week

Image

Wednesday marked the start of National Police Week, and I'm proud to recognize all of the men and women in blue (and green) who keep our communities safe each and every day. On Thursday, I hosted a press conference at the Capitol to honor our law enforcement officers, their families, and those we've lost in the line of duty. As the wife of a first responder myself, this week is tremendously important to me, and there is never enough we can do to express how truly thankful we are to the men and women who protect our local communities everyday.

Thank you to my many friends and colleagues for speaking at the National Police Week press conference. One thing is clear: the House Republican Conference will always Back The Blue, and we will always stand behind our law enforcement officers who work hard to keep our communities safe.

Attending The Clay County Police Memorial Ceremony In Green Cove Springs

Image

Last week, members of Team Kat attended the Clay County Sheriff's Office Police Memorial Ceremony in Green Cove Springs to honor fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service. The event featured a presentation of the Colors, 21-gun salute, "Taps," a flyover, and Honor Guard presentations. Following the event, attendees were invited to a luncheon hosted by the Clay County FOP Lodge 104.

As we recognize National Police Week this week, I'm grateful to our community members in North Central and Northeast Florida for taking the time to honor those we've lost.

Honoring Fallen Police Chief Derek Asdot

Image

Recently, I visited the Green Cove Springs Police Department in Clay County to present a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of the late Chief Derek Asdot who passed away last year after contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty. GCSPD Chief John Guzman and his team accepted the flag in memory of Chief Asdot and will display it proudly at the department.

With National Police Week being this week, I'm grateful for these heroes who continue to serve and protect our communities in Florida's Third Congressional District and across the nation. I hope you'll join me in praying for the friends and family of Chief Derek Asdot during this solemn time.

Giving Florida Gators A Tour Of The Capitol

Earlier this week, I had the honor of meeting some of the students from University of Florida's Beyond 120 program! UF students from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who participate in this program learn career readiness through internships, mentorships, travel, research, workshops, and more.

It was great to see these Gators from Florida's Third Congressional District in our nation's capital! Go Gators!
