Biden's Blunders & Memorial Day Ceremonies Across Florida's Third

Dear Neighbor,

This week while back in Florida's Third Congressional District, my team and I attended various Memorial Day ceremonies, recognizing the men and women at home and across the country who sacrificed their lives for our country. It was great seeing folks from our local communities gathering to honor our fallen heroes who so valiantly fought to defend our nation's freedoms. I'd like to extend a special thank you to everyone who put these events together. May we always remember—all gave some; some gave all.

Additionally, as costs continue to rise across the country, the Biden administration is once again flailing in their efforts to curb inflation. While Democrats continue to blame Putin for gas prices, just this week, the nationwide average price for a gallon of gas reached $4.76—the highest price ever recorded. Americans' wallets are hurting. It's time for a change in course if things are going to improve, and Republicans will continue to offer solutions ahead of November.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

Honoring Our Fallen Heroes On Memorial Day

Image

On Memorial Day, my team and I joined millions of Americans in praying for the families of those we've lost and for the service members who so bravely and valiantly defended our freedoms until the very end.

Memorial Day is not the unofficial start to the summer or an excuse for a pool party, but a reminder that freedom certainly is not free, and is paid for with the lives of American men and women who proudly wear the U.S. flag on their uniforms. We are the land of the free because of the brave. May we never forget these heroes.

Blasting Biden's Failed Fixes For Rising Inflation

Image

On Wednesday, I joined Newsmax to blast the Biden administration's failed attempts to reduce inflation and rising costs for Americans. Just this week, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen admitted she 'misread' the threat of inflation, and the nationwide average price for a gallon of gas has reached $4.76—the highest price ever recorded. It's basic economics—as supply goes down, prices go up, and with an administration that continually exacerbates the problem, Americans everywhere are hurting.

Addressing Biden's Gaffes & Growing Economic Pessimism Under This Administration

Image

I joined the Evening Edit on Fox Business to talk Biden's gaffes and growing economic pessimism across the U.S. Recently, a leaked report revealed Biden's frustration with various White House aides for walking back his statements, including those relating to foreign policy. As costs continue to rise and supplies grow scarce around the country, Americans are getting cynical about this administration's handling of the economy. Quite frankly, Biden is turning the United States into a laughing stock on the world stage, and we need a sharp change in course if things are going to get better.

Recognizing Local Heroes Across Florida's Third Congressional District On Memorial Day

Image

On Monday morning, my team and I attended various Memorial Day ceremonies and events across Florida's Third Congressional District. In Alachua, Green Cove Springs, Ocala, and Palatka, the local communities gathered to recognize the men and women in Florida's Third Congressional District and across the country who sacrificed their lives for our country. It was great seeing so many folks out to honor and remember those we've lost in the line of duty. We have no greater duty than ensuring future generations understand the importance of Memorial Day.

Meeting Gold Star Families From Florida's Third Congressional District

Image

This past Thursday, I had the honor of meeting several local Gold Star families from Florida's Third Congressional District. I presented them with a copy of the Congressional Record where their loved one's name is included and got to hear their stories about the husbands, sons, brothers, cousins, and uncles they lost. The family members told me that they often feel like life moves on while their loved ones' birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions slowly fade away.

As we recognized Memorial Day on Monday, I'm continually reminded of the service and sacrifice our heroes make. Freedom is not free; may God bless these families and the memories that are still very much alive.

Preparing For The Start Of Atlantic Hurricane Season

This Wednesday, June 1st, marked the start of Atlantic Hurricane season, and meteorologists already predict an active season, with storms forming as we speak. Now's the time to prepare; for information on how you can prepare your household and community in the event of a potential hurricane, visit Ready.gov or Listo.gov

Additionally, this past weekend began Florida's sales tax holiday for emergency preparedness supplies. From Saturday, May 28th to Friday, June 10th, consumers can purchase qualifying disaster preparedness supplies exempt from tax during the 2022 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. It's our duty to be prepared, ensuring our families have the proper resources on hand when disasters head our way.

Learning About UF's National Science Foundation-Supported Projects In STEM Fields

Image

Early this week, the University of Florida hosted National Science Foundation Director Sethuraman Panchanathan for a tour of UF's NSF-supported projects. We had a roundtable discussion about UF's research projects followed by a tour of the Museum of Natural History, the NSF Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel, and the UF Data Center. It was great getting to view some of the ways UF is leading in research and development in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and I'm proud to represent the Gator Nation in Florida's Third Congressional District.

Rep. Cammack To Newsmax: Yellen Showing White House Has No 'Real Concept' (Newsmax)

Rep. Kat Cammack, responding to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's decision to admit that she was wrong about the path inflation would take, said Wednesday on Newsmax that Yellen's words show what happens with an administration with no "real concept" of what the real world is like for everyday Americans.
