Congressional Update from U.S. Congressman Andy Barr
During this district work period, I am traveling throughout Kentucky's Sixth Congressional District to speak with local organizations and to provide my constituents with an update on my work in Washington.
EKU Partners with Toyota

I joined Eastern Kentucky University and Toyota to recognize the newfound partnership between EKU's occupational therapy and manufacturing programs with Toyota to improve the safety of assembly lines in the industry. Nearly 250,000 jobs in Kentucky depend on manufacturing and in order to attract workers, we need to ensure all are safe and healthy, and this partnership does exactly that. This cooperative results from the groundbreaking work of Dr. Maddie Spears, a recent graduate of EKU's OT program this past spring.
Estill County Schools

Grateful for the opportunity to meet with Estill County Superintendent, Charlie Brock, and Deputy Superintendent, Wes Morgan, to discuss their work in providing students with quality instruction and educational opportunities. I look forward to continuing to support their efforts by advocating for additional educational funding and by prioritizing this investment in our youth which is essential to the future of our nation.
Berea College

Berea College provides central Kentuckians and students from across the world a unique educational opportunity in which work-study grants cover remaining tuition fees after individual grants and scholarships are received. I met with President Dr. Cheryl Nixon to discuss the impact of higher education in our community and growing opportunities for our youth. |
