Dear Friend,

Last week, we, like many Americans, watched the State of the Union Address. We were honored to be joined by two Minnesotans who truly represent the best the Sixth Congressional District has to offer: retired St. Cloud Police Chief Blair Anderson and fourth-generation dairy farmer Hannah Molitor.

As Chief of the St. Cloud Police Department, Blair worked hard to build connections between law enforcement officers and the community of St. Cloud. As a result, crime decreased and community trust in law enforcement has skyrocketed. During his time as Chief, Blair made service to the St. Cloud community the cornerstone of his department. While we miss his leadership, we hope he is enjoying his well-deserved retirement.

Hannah Molitor grew up on her family’s dairy farm near St. Cloud, alongside her seven sisters and more than 300 cows. When she is not working on the farm, Hannah works for the Minnesota Dairy Herd Improvement Association, visiting dairy farms around the state and collecting samples to make sure Minnesota dairy farms continue to produce the highest quality milk. Hannah has been an active member of the Stearns County Farm Bureau for more than eight years and was recently elected to serve as County President. Outside of the Farm Bureau, Hannah is an active volunteer with 4-H and Future Farmers of America.

While we were grateful to be joined by such wonderful guests, President Biden’s address left much to be desired. Americans are racking up debt to keep up with persistently high food and gas prices, our skies are being patrolled by our foreign adversaries, and fentanyl and high crime have made our communities less secure. In his address, President Biden failed to answer for these serious concerns. Nevertheless, we’ll keep working here in the House of Representatives to address these issues—stay tuned to hear more about our work to solve the problems that are impacting so many of us.
