Dear Friend,

Hunting and archery are not just a sports or hobbies, they are part of our way of life as Minnesotans.

For many of us, these activities are family affairs. For others, they are new skills that have been learned through friends or extracurricular activities at school.

In a recent newsletter, we covered the Biden Administration’s push to defund school archery and trap shooting programs. This is a dangerous and misguided policy decision. Extracurricular archery and trap shooting programs teach students important life skills, such as discipline, teamwork and firearm safety. They also promote sportsman’s activities as a whole and help ensure that future generations of Minnesotans can enjoy these activities in the future.

Last night, the House of Representatives took action to protect these programs by passing the Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act, which makes important clarifications to existing legislation to allow federal education funding to be used for archery and trap shooting programs.

This legislation protects our heritage and ensures that future generations of Minnesotans can continue to learn and enjoy these activities in the great outdoors. While Congress has worked to undo this foolish policy, we must remain vigilant and ensure that the Biden Administration does not try something like this again.

Sincerely,

Sincerely,
