Dear Friend,

Over the weekend, Israel was attacked by the vicious terrorist group, Hamas. Despite the horrific attacks, the Israeli people remain resilient and determined to defend their homeland.

Let us be perfectly clear: the United States must stand with the Israeli people and continue to condemn the unprovoked, viscous attacks being perpetrated by Hamas. I am pleased to report that as of this morning, the first U.S. weapons shipment since the attack arrived in Israel, and U.S. special forces are readying to rescue hostages.

There is no excuse for the evil we have seen from Hamas. The videos, photos and stories we have heard and seen from this week’s attacks are a stark reminder of the anti-Semitism, cruelty and brutality that still exists in the world.

Times like this can be particularly concerning for Minnesotans with loved ones overseas. We have received several calls from Sixth District constituents with family members and friends in Israel. Rest assured, we are working hard, doing everything in our power to help them.

If you or someone you know has a loved one in Israel or the Middle East, do not hesitate to reach out to one of our offices by calling (763) 241-6848 or (952) 262-2999. You can also send my office an email here. More information on State Department resources for U.S. citizens stranded in Israel can be found here.

The United States remains committed to aiding Israel as they rightfully defend themselves against the Hamas terrorists.

There cannot be any tolerance for anti-Semitism in Israel, in Minnesota, or anywhere else. We are continuing to pray for peace in the Middle East, and for the thousands of innocent Israelis who have been victims of these heinous attacks.

Sincerely,
