Listening to Floridians
Dear Friends:
I was saddened to hear about the horrific and senseless death of the six Israeli Hostages, including American Citizen, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, murdered by Hamas due to a complete lack of American Strength and Leadership. Make no mistake — this happened because of Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden’s dangerously weak foreign policy. The United States must not remain silent and tolerate Hamas terrorist attacks, nor tolerate lies perpetuated by those who facilitate and apologize for these attacks. During this time of conflict and heightened uncertainty in the Middle East, it’s vital that the United States reaffirm its commitment to Israel’s security. For the past 11 months, I have continued to pray for all the families and loved ones affected. We must bring the hostages home now!
Florida Preparedness Month
As Floridians, we are familiar with the damage that hurricanes and tropical storms can bring. It is important to have an emergency plan for you and your family. Governor Ron DeSantis recently issued a proclamation declaring September as Florida Preparedness Month. The 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season runs until November 30, with September marking the historical peak of hurricane season. It is important to have an emergency plan for you and your family!
Be sure to heed to local and state warnings and directions regarding evacuation and shelters. Know where storm shelters will be set up in your area. Local, county, and state officials provide this information as storms approach. Visit my Disaster Preparedness webpage for further guidance and contact information for local emergency offices. As the 2024 hurricane season continues, my staff and I will do our best to provide regular updates from local, state, and federal authorities.
Seeing and Serving You
I recently spoke and took questions from the Association of Mature American Citizens. I discussed my commonsense solution, the HEALTH Act, which would ensure more Americans have access to the care they need, from the doctor they choose, at a price they can afford. My bill would allow doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide pro-bono healthcare services to low-income individuals, including children in the CHIP program, in exchange for a simple tax deduction. My proposal would save the government billions of dollars!

I was honored to recently speak and visit with the Sumter County Cattlemen Association in Bushnell. Sumter works closely with the State and National Cattlemen's to be the voice of local ranchers through education, community outreach, legislative efforts, and youth development. Thank you to Sumter County Cattlemen Association for your recent work in organizing local events for the 2024 Hurricane season by gathering, palletizing, and storing disaster relief supplies, so that our community is well-prepared. I appreciate the Sumter County Cattlemen Association for all dedication they give to our local ranchers.

It was a pleasure to join members of the Leesburg Kiwanis Club at Ellen’s Cafe located in Downtown Leesburg. I spoke about how my office works diligently with federal agency liaisons on a constituent’s behalf to answer questions, find solutions, or simply attempt to cut through the red tape. This year alone my office has gotten nearly $2 million returned to constituents in owed tax returns, veteran benefits, social security payments and more. I am committed to continuing to work to improve the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of our federal agencies. If you are a constituent in Congressional District 11 in need of assistance with a federal agency, call 352-241-9220 or visit my website at https://webster.house.gov/casework. Thank you, Leesburg Kiwanis Club, for your service to our local community, as well as the global efforts you are involved in to benefit children around the world!

I stopped by Heritage Community Church in Fruitland Park recently to see their operations serving the community by providing the Florida Baptist Convention Mobile Dentistry Bus. This bus travels throughout Florida providing dental services to those who are uninsured. It was great to meet Dr. Morgan Kubis from Marion Dental Group and her dental assistant, Leslie Wilson - two of the Community Ministry volunteers who provide their time to give free dental services. Thank you for using your professional skills to give back to our community while also improving the health of citizens.

Pam Jones, my Community Relations Representative for Orange County, recently attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase 2 of the Tucker Ranch Park and Nature Preserve in Winter Garden. Construction of the 25.6-acre Tucker Ranch Holistic Health, Wellness, Teaching Farm and Family Center will provide a number of amenities for residents and families, as well as a trail system that connects with the parks existing trails, picnic areas, and outdoor recreation space. Thank you, to the many partners involved with the construction of this park that benefit the lives of families and visitors in our community.

Cindy Brown, my Community Relations Representative for Sumter County, recently gathered with the Bless Fruitland Park team, a group of local community leaders to present a check for $19,111.71 to Fruitland Park Elementary School. Bless Fruitland Park was founded in 2014 by Sidney Brock, Pastor of the Heritage Community Church in Fruitland Park, and they have raised over $150,000 to benefit the school, the staff, and the students through a giving campaign called “Project Generosity”. Thank you, Bless Fruitland Park, and the local community for your abundant generosity!
