A Note About Passport Cases

Congressman Scott's office has been diligently working to assist constituents with passport inquiries directed to both the Department of State and the Atlanta Passport Office.
As of June, we have successfully navigated hundreds of cases. However, as the travel season is in full swing, we would like to share some essential information to better prepare constituents for their planned and potential future travel.
Important Passport Tips:
- Apply early & keep documents up to date to avoid stress and cancellations. Some countries require passports valid for 6 months post-departure.
- Book your trip after receiving your passport to prevent travel payment stress.
- Routine passports take up to 13 weeks; expedited up to 9 weeks. Check processing times at the Department of State's website.
- Ensure you have all necessary documents to avoid delays when applying.
- Appointments aren't guaranteed due to high demand. Call 1-877-487-2778 for appointment availability updates.
