Dear Arthur,
I had a great visit with the West County Chamber of Commerce during their monthly luncheon where I heard firsthand the concerns of our local business leaders. I spoke on how rising inflation, worker shortages, and supply chain issues are impacting small businesses here in our community. Thank you to Chamber President Lori Kelling for having me, I always appreciate talking with Missourians on the issues that matter to all of us.
I joined Donn Rubin of BioSTL, the Consulate of Israel and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates for the first Trilateral Symposium for food security and agriculture innovation that includes Abraham Accords partners. St. Louis is a global leader in the plant sciences and agribusiness, and there is no better city to host these important discussions. My colleagues and I are adamant that the United States capitalize on the momentum and excitement we’ve built in the two years since the Abraham Accords were first signed. Deepening and expanding Arab-Israeli partnerships absolutely must remain a top foreign policy priority, and I’ve worked across the aisle to push the Biden Administration to keep these relationships on the front burner. Last week’s Trilateral Symposium was an incredible step forward in these ongoing partnerships and I look forward to working in Congress where I serve as the Co-Chair of the Abraham Accords Caucus to advance federal policies that support the Accords.
Saturday was National DEA Drug Takeback Day. It was great to join our local law enforcement to encourage our friends and neighbors to turn in any unneeded prescription drugs and help stop addiction before it takes root.
Recently, it was reported the Department of Defense (DOD) will provide funding to service members or their dependents to travel to receive an abortion. This is an unprecedented use of taxpayer dollars that flies in the face of Congressional authority. The DOD should not be using taxpayer dollars to fund abortions, and last week I called on the DOD to immediately rescind this horrific policy.
My office continues to provide constituent services to those who need our help. Whether it is a Medicare issue, a problem with the VA or the IRS, or even getting a passport expedited, we can help. Call us at our Ballwin office at 636-779-5449 or visit our website here.
Sincerely,
Ann Wagner Member of Congress
