Dear Friends –
This week, President Biden signed a federal funding package into law that responds directly to some of Greater Hartford’s most pressing needs. I worked directly with Connecticut’s own Rep. Rosa DeLauro, Chair of the Appropriations Committee, to secure more than $6 million in funding for projects in the First District:
- $930,000 for local organizations working to combat gun violence in Hartford, including Hartford Communities That Care’s Hartford Community Response Team and Violence Prevention Enhancement and the Mothers United Against Violence’s Victim Impact Project.

- $250,000 for Connecticut Foodshare to address food insecurity in Hartford, offering a lifeline to the more than 27,000 food insecure Hartford residents.
- $600,000 for the Town of East Hartford to purchase the Downtown Post Office and expand the Raymond Library, opening the door for new programs and services.

These projects will go a long way to address our region’s needs. I will continue to fight for more federal funding and resources for Connecticut’s First District.
